Installing Dyslite: Downloading GreaseMonkey

The GreaseMonkey plugin that works as an addon for Mozilla Firefox and comes preinstalled with Google Chrome is an essential tool in allowing Dyslite to function. If you are running Google Chrome, you can skip this step and go directly to installing the dyslexia-enhanced font type(s) which come bundled with your Dyslite plugin download. If you are running Mozilla Firefox, installing GreaseMonkey is a free and simple process that is outlined below. The process may vary slightly depending on your operating system, but overall the methodology should be the same.

Step 1: Download GreaseMonkey

You can download GreaseMonkey at the official Firefox addon online repository (link here). After the addon has been downloaded, restart Firefox and open up the addon manager. You should notice that GreaseMonkey is now there, along with any other plugins you may have installed.

Step 2: Managing GreaseMonkey Scripts

Click on the GreaseMonkey preferences and you’ll be brought to a page where you can manager the user scripts you have installed. If you’re running on a fresh install of GreaseMonkey, there won’t be any. Leave this pane open, you’ll need it later.

Step 3: Onward!

You’re now ready to install your dyslexia-optimized font(s) on your computer. Onward!
